Salicylic Acid is a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) that is highly effective at treating and preventing pimples, breakouts and post-acne scars.

This powerful medium strength peel penetrates below the surface to detoxify and purge acne-causing bacteria. It will produce visible peeling as it detoxifies dead skin cells and sebum from pores.

After the skin shedding is complete you will see a significant reduction in acne. Depending on the severity of your acne, you may require multiple peel procedures to see optimum results.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The 20% Salicylic Acid Peel is a medium strength peel which means mild to moderate peeling is expected. When the peel is applied you may feel a slight stinging sensation as the acid penetrates the skin.

If the peel was layered during application and left on long enough, then frosting may occur. Frosting is when the peel changes from clear to white during a chemical peel procedure. This indicates that the acid has penetrated the skin sufficiently and it is now time to neutralize. During the healing process it is common for the frosted areas to darken before peeling off.

The peeling typically starts 2-4 days after the peel procedure. During the healing process you can expect a short downtime. Duration of downtime varies according per the individual.

HOW OFTEN CAN I USE THIS PEEL?

The 20% Salicylic Acid Peel can be applied 8-12 weeks apart depending on need and skin tolerance.
